Who would’ve thought that more than a week later I would write a Part 2 of this post (I did promise I would do it in my previous post, didn’t I). So remember I talked to you about the drama club and how joining them had a positive effect on me and my confidence? Well, turns out it would also lead me to going on a date with one of the members. Now I’ll be honest about two things here: 1) I didn’t expect to have feelings for her and 2) I didn’t “technically” ask her out myself.
Before then, I always thought of her as a very nice and friendly person who would go out of her way to try to talk to us foreigners in the club. Looking back, I do remember the one time before our performance day when we went to an Indian restaurant after rehearsals. While we were walking together to the restaurant, I thought that she looked kinda cute, but I didn’t think much after that. However, when we were doing our drama performance of High School Musical in Osaka, that’s when I realised that I actually liked her. I knew this because when we took the train back home, she was talking to one of the other guys in the club and I felt a bit jealous about it (don’t get me started about the insecurities that popped up).

Eventually I confided in two of my close friends about it (who’s also friends with her) and after failing to ask her out myself because I was too nervous and afraid to do it, they set up a plan for the four of us to go out for dinner together in order to give me some time to be around her and (hopefully) tell her how I feel.

Unfortunately, I ended up not telling her how I felt because it was raining a lot (we wanted to take a walk after dinner) and she was too tired so we scrapped the idea and decided to head home. Overall, though, it was a very fun and enjoyable night out.
At this time of writing, I’m only seeing her again in two weeks and when I decide to tell her how I feel is still a mystery, but the fact that I was able to go out on a “date” with someone after a long time was still something special and I definitely owe a lot to my two friends who came with to support me.
